近年來,廣告商對於利用大明星作為代言人開始減少,取而代之的就是大量所謂『資訊』的廣告,尤其健康及理財產品最為突出。
因為每天上班關係,搭乘地鐵時會拿取一份都市日報,偶然發現一份關於小學生學習能力報導,版面與都市日報相差無幾,細看之下才發現是廣告。於法律角度而言,這些所謂『資訊』是否屬於誤導就值得相確,但專業意見開始變成廣告時,受眾就會對專業之中立性存疑。
試舉一例,一名牙科醫生於電視『資訊』中建議病人使用某牌牙膏,那麼該『資訊』是那位牙醫的客觀專業意見還是廣告?日後那位牙醫所提出的建議又是否含有廣告成份?大眾又應否接受健康產品贊助節目內醫生所提出的建議?當專業人士失去其中立性,其建議就得要思考一下了。

With the first introduction of online check-in function from Cathay Pacific, some major airlines are following the giant and install the similar features. Choosing seat online is a good development for airlines. First, the time spending on check-in will be reduced. Travellers, especially the one in Economy Class (like me =P) do not need to queue for normal check-in. Second, ground staff can put more effort on First, Business and handicapped passengers. Third, people can choose seats as they wish instead of letting the staff randomly pick.
So what is the next step for online check-in? For the service improvement and cost saving, Internet can help on catering management. Travellers can spend some time on choosing their favourate food after their seat selection. Airline can provide the meal list on the particular flight. For example, passenger can pre-select Pasta or Chinese Fry Rice during their online progress. Catering can estimate the number of Pasta or Chinese Fry Rice order in order to make a better judgement on ordering skyfood.
Cabin crew may increase workload on preorder food services. Aparting from first and business class which customization is a usual job, economy class may follow the practice by printing the list of pre-ordered customers. Some adjustments on procedures are necessary but the problem should not be too large. Another difficult raised is the communication between catering company and airlines. The order time will be largely reduced and the current system should be improved.
Being an outsider of the industry, it is expected to see the war of aviation in the coming years. Increasing competitors force the major airlines to find new outstanding features. Choosing seats are still new to majorities, but soon will be normal practice. Making new ideas are the best way to become leaders of the industry.

新加坡航空公司最近於新型B777-300ER (Extended Range)上配置先進中央控制文書處理系統,連經濟客位的也可以受惠,加上特大10.6″顯示屏及座位電源,難怪新航會成為全球最佳航空公司。本地航空要在競爭劇烈的航空市場上打滾,恐怕又要傷腦筋如何應付了。

根據新航資料,全新艙等產品自2006年12月開始逐步配置在新航最新B777-300ER客機上,並往來於新加坡與巴黎、香港、米蘭、巴塞隆納、蘇黎世、首爾、舊金山以及新加坡與法蘭克福之間的航線。

近年來大家興起廉價航空熱,當然二千元去倫敦絕對超值,但買之前必須了解箇中細節。
最要留意因素就當然是沒有飛機出發,甘泉航空已經做了一個好例子。很多時廉價航空因為盡量減低成本而沒有其他航空公司機位支援,假設飛機因事故而未能起飛,乘客亦不能轉乘其他航班離港。
其次就是目的地機場問題,很多廉價航空不會在大型國際機場而選擇次等機場。甘泉航空降落於倫敦Gatwick也是市區機場,但部分歐洲廉價航空(如Ryanair)會選擇倫敦市中心東北方48公里的Stansted機場,這一點要留意。
還有要留意的,就是預早購票規定(APEX - Advanced Purchase Excursion),通常要出發前七至三十日出票。雖然一部往倫敦的波音747-400飛機有超過二百個位,但肯定不是每一個賣一千元(否則會蝕大本的),所以特平機票往往要一至三個月前訂票,出票後更改日期也要附加費。上班一族若果要搭廉價航空,就要好好考慮出發日期了。
其他地方也不詳細說明,例如班次限制、飛行時間、停留限制、燃油附加費、座位舒適度、餐膳安排(這個對長途客非常重要)、寄存行李限制、旺季加幅、購票安排等等。曾經廉價航空Valuair(現已被JetStar收購)以1250推出來回新加坡機票,而新航立即以1100推出優惠票對抗。要考慮廉價航空之前,可要認真格價一番耶。
